I had this whole thing in my head tell me what you like and don't like.
Since i have been having trouble picking a song to come out with I decided maybe let's do something fun. FH favorite song now is 'NYPD they be hating....' it's a rap song that is constantly played. And when they announce us we come out handcuffed to each other. everytime I think about it it's funny but I don't think everyone else has my humor. What you think.

lol... it's called 'ridin' dirty'. i am a cop, so is FH. it depends on him... if he thinks it's funny then go for it. we're inviting A LOT of cops from work and they'd probably think we were weirdos for doing something like that - which I wouldn't care because i have that type of sense of humor. but FH is really reserved and shy and doesn't want to get embarassed in front of anyone. but like i said, if you both think it's funny, then do it!!! it's all about you guys.

You can tell by my name, now married to a cop, I had these same thoughts. My DH rained on that parade. He is very touchy about the topic of being a police officer, so I treaded lightly. You can always use 'Bad Boys' from cops for your garter portion. We didn't do a garter, so I didn't have the opportunity. To stay with the cops theme, I bought mini handcuff charms and sewed them onto my garter and I also ordered a specialty cake topper from a website called magic mud. I sent them a pic of my hubby in uniform and a pic of me from my fitting. It was a huge hit!! Good Luck, please let me know if I can help with anything else!!!

i'm not marrying a cop, but i would be worried as to the connotation that handcuffing two people might bring...sexual inuendos, that he's imprisoned by you...etc....
the song seems great...but the handcuffs might be over the top...he's a cop after all...not an ex-con.
BUT that's JMO....if your FH likes the idea and you feel your guests will see it your way, then go for it.

The song is very anti-cop too! My FH is a NYC cop and he laughs about it b/c people in his precinct blast it when they pass the cops to annoy them, but they just laugh at them. I don't think I would use it at my wedding, also though because the language is pretty innappropriate for the occasion in my opinion Here's a line-- 'This a message to the laws tellin them WE HATE YOU' Bad Boys might be better... I have to agree, I dont mean to sound like a party pooper..but FI is also a cop and people drive by blasting it...the words arent really 'cop friendly' I like bad boys though..thats a cute idea if you want to do the whole cop thing

we all like it because if you're a city cop, it's amusing. you have to laugh at how much these people hate us and that songs are written specifically for that reason... lol, if they weren't doing anything wrong, they probably wouldn't hate us so much!!
