Sorry, kinda lengthy! Okay so this weekend I went out to LOOK for a dress and ended up BUYING the dress (yay me!) BUT the problem is... My MIL was supposed to come with me along with FH's Aunt and my bestfriend. Well MIL has been REALLY sick with the flu. She felt bad bcuz she really wanted to come with me to try on dresses (especially since my mom lives out of the country and can't come along to witness all my special moments). So when I knew MIL couldn't make it I felt bad also and told her I would change the appointment. But I didnt, I ended up going with my bestfriend. So now, she has NO IDEA i already BOUGHT the dress. and can't even do a FAKE OUT and take her to the bridal salon bcuz they dont even carry my dress at the store! Should I wait for the next Trunk Show at ANY bridal shop and go and PRETEND its the first time i'm trying it on??

I think that'd be the best bet if you really don't want to hurt her feelings. Or, can't you find another salon that carries it? Find a pic of it and then search to find a salon that has it and go there to try it on. Good Luck!!

you can tell her the truth, and then offer to take her to see it.
or, you could go dress shopping with ehr and not find anything you like. then you could go dress shopping with a friend and find the dress, and take her back to see it...

tough situation, but i would be honest with her. she might not be happy about it, but i would tell her that you were just so excited and couldn't wait. have her come with you for your first fitting, or with some other wedding stuff.

Ditto...the truth always comes back to bite. I would tell her the truth because you have a good relationship with her and take her to see it asap!!! Also maybe ask her help with picking out a veil, headpiece or something else such as flowers or invites! It sounds like she has your best interest at heart which is a great thing.

thats hard!!! i dont know whati would do. If u lie and get caught she will be upset and if u tell her u bought the dress she will be upset. i dont know sorry i'm no help

Since its from their new collection I BELIEVE I can only see it and try it on again at their trunk shows. there are a few trunk shows scheduled at other bridal shops. i guess i will set something up with one of those bridal shops.
