FYI

I was informed last night that whenever we mention a vendors name they are notified and get to see what we posted about them (If they are a LIWeddings Vendor).

Just thought you all would want to know - I personally was not thrilled by this.

Gives them more incentive to be fair in pricing and good in quality if they know we talk....but kind of border line crazy.

that's stalker status.... if they want to have fair pricing, then have fair pricing, every vendor knows what the competitors charge, no need to snoop on peoples conversations just to better your business...

Both.... b/c my vendor who I booked last night who is awesome (btw) said he saw my reply to another post regarding photographers. I mentioned his name saying I was deciding between the two but ultimately went with that one.... I was very weirded out and called him a stalker.

I saw once a before told someone their negative comment was unfair....thought that was strange! This is what this website is for advice! The vendors shouldn't be allowed to comment on them!!

He said he cant see the boards - he can only see when he is mentioned - positive or negative. He saw what I wrote about another photographer because I mentioned him within the same post. CRAZZZY!!

Not so creepy, vendors pay to market on the site and get feedback when they are mentioned, honestly it's not much different than getting an email from a store saying you left items in your shopping cart. If you think anything on this site or any site is private or not tracked you're sadly mistaken. You can even see old versions of deleted web pages if you know how

I'm not saying it's creepy and unbelievable that they do it, it makes complete sense. They pay the site and the site gives them advertising and feed back...The forums are a goldmine of honest feedback for the companies. I don't think someone is sitting around reading all posts looking for a vendor to be mentioned- it it automatically filtered. Vendor's names used to be hyperlinked to their LIW page whenever mentioned on this site. And after all, it is a public forum! Just creepy to think about!

Yes ladies - well aware, just thought it was crazy, but it totally makes sense. Just makes you more aware, plus if you really are going on a vendor rant they will see it. Just something to keep in mind when we post.
