they just mailed the contract regarding the blocked rooms and it says I am not allowed to take pictures or have my guests bring thier own alcohol into thier rooms. i understand that they do this to be fair to the brides getting married there but i am sad that i will not be able to get ready there
just a heads up for any other brides who are thinking about it
i wasnt planning on getting ready there but i am staying there after...you should call and find out about that...I am sure you can work something out if you planned on getting ready there with your girls! maybe a small fee...

That's the point of having booked a beautiful hotel...to take PICS WHILE YOURE GETTING READy! Will they even know if your photographer takes some pics of you putting on jewelry or getting your makeup done? That *****....sorry to hear it!

You can't even take them in your room? I knew about not taking them in the lobby and all that. Also, my banquet manager said that they take brides to their rooms in like a freight elevator because if they're not 'their brides' they dont want them seen around the hotel. Don't know how true that is though.

I called and they said photogs in rooms are fine... still i am not in the mood to have rules and uptight people around me on my wedding day. i rather staty at great neck inn , more money but much better customer service

I think me and fh are the ONLY ones on here getting married at GCH...I didn't think pictures would be a problem but I understand the alcohol thing, some people (and I know from experience) CANNOT control themselves, so it's more a proactive measure. I do love the hotel though, they're very professional and the food amazing!!!

i agree....rules have to be made....i wouldnt switch...take pics in the room of you guys getting ready...and then the rest at your hall....it will be fine!

That is very strange b/c my friend got married there last summer and she left from there. The photographer came to the hotel and took pictures No one from the hotel even questioned us, and the BP (girls) where there with her taking the before pics. That's strange.

You can get ready there, you can take pics in your room, I'm staying there too. You just can't take pics in lobby, out front, restaurant, etc.
