So I was in the mall at lunch today and I went to the MAC counter to buy eye shadow. I got to talking to the make-up artist and I asked her how much it costs to get your make-up done there. It's actually FREE for them to do your make-up. The only catch is that you have to buy ANY four of their products. This is very easy for someone who wears MAC regularly. I am actually going to book an appointment with them for my e-pics since I need to buy make-up anyway and I always use their make-up. I thought it was a pretty good deal. Also they told me that they could privately come to your house for make-up application the day of your wedding. That of course is not free and all of the artists charge different amounts. If you are willing to go into the Mac store, you could actually get your make-up application for Free for your wedding if you buy any 4 of the products. HTH

JUST make sure that since you are doing it for something like e-pics that you SPECIFICALLY tell them what you want...Ive had it done quite a few times and about half the time it came out HORRIBLE...some of them just like to do whatever is trendy but dont consider the fact that it might not look good on you, i walked out looking like a clown one time. Especially with MAC bc if you notice they use alot of make up and theyll do it for trials too so you need to let them know what you want, dont be afraid to speak up

You know thats a really good point. Maybe I should be more natural for e-pics and just do it myself. I don't really wear a lot of make-up , if any, to begin with, Maybe I should just do a little but. Thanks for the heads up I can't believe I didn't even think of that.

Thanks I was just going to get my make-up done because I needed the make-up anyway and I figured it would be a lot easier to just get it done there, but Denise brought up a good point because it could be really risky if I dont like it and i have e-pics that day.

no dont be discouraged i just wanted to make sure you tell them what you want and dont let them just do as they please...I know from past experiences and remember how i walked out looking a couple of times...if you bring a pic and tell them you want natural then it really shouldn't be a problem...Hey if anything just take it off and do your own before the pics

Re: FYI: Mac Makeovers
i was thinking the same thing - explain to them exactly the look you want... don't let them decide for you because since they work for a makeup place they might be inclined to do something trendy to sell their products.
def tell them and better yet show them a pic of what you want - you could def ask them for pointers on what they think would work best with your skin and hair coloring and tones - but you should be happy with the work they're doing too .
that is great though since you are going to buy those products anyway - you get a free makeover too - so it works out
if you do decide to do that let us know how it goes

No I'm not discouraged at all! I really appreciate that you said something. I still may get it done and you are right because I could always wash it off. I'll just make sure I dont have it done right before i get the pics taken I would have to call up Patken and say . Sorry but can I reschedule my pics for this evening...uh something came up...

she told me that you have to call for an appointment but I'm sure if you walked up and they were free they would do it.

Re: FYI: Mac Makeovers
Some advice - MAC makeup artists tend to be veryy heavy handed...Idk how much makeup you normally wear, but I've been actually embarrassed a few times walking out of there b/c I looked like a scary clown, lol....seriously

AGREEEE....i love MAC and it's literally the only makeup I wear butt the one time I got my makeup done there they had to redo it because i was not happy. After I explained what I wanted it came out much nicer!!!
