Not sure if any of you are planning on getting ready at the GCH but I went to look at the rooms last week and they told me that I will not be able to take pictures in the lobby or anywhere outside my room becasue I am not getting married there. I could not beleive it becasue the rooms we where getting where coming to almost $2000. Oh well guess they are not getting my business..

Re: Garden City HOtel
my FSIL got ready there a few years ago - she took almost all of her pics in the suite, not sure if there was a rule then but she stuck to pics in the room only

I wanted to take them in the lobby becasue they decorate so nicely for Christmas with a tree and such....

Seriously? What if you hadn't asked? Would they really have made a bride stop taking photos?

GCH is nice and all but not worth it if they will not work with you. I mean the rooms are nice and you can just do shots there but I don't understand why they will not allow you to take pics in the lobby as long as your not blocking the entrance.

The bellman told me that they stop brides taking pictures all the time. Isn't that horrible..

It has always been the rule there. And yes if brides don't ask they will stop you.
I know it seems unfair but they don't want a million brides using their facilities for pictures even if they are staying there. They save that for 'their brides.'
To be honest my friend got married there and other brides were staying there the same time -- the rule worked great for her because otherwise she would be compeating for picture space with girls who just got ready and then left.
Think of it this way -- would you want other brides coming into your RH to just take pictures and then leave when you are getting married there the same day?

Re: Garden City HOtel
we stayed there the night of the wedding- didn't care for them at all!! overpriced for the room/service we received.
