Gave my two weeks at work. (Vent)

Ive been having issues at work with one of my managers. For those that dont know, I work at a restaurant/club in the city as a waitress. I try to stay out of his way because when he gets angry, he gets verbally abusive. He has even told me to, 'Get the Fcuck Out'. Because he was angry about something. He apologized the next day and I continued to work there. He still continued to find little things to pick on me about and last night was the last straw. He yelled at me for putting a pair of shoes in a drawer. And says it was 'F uckin stupid of me' I didnt get it at all so I had an is-he-serious look on my face and he says 'Its not f uckin funny dont laugh' I wasnt laughing. At that point, I was done. This isnt the first time he has spoken to me this way and he speaks to all the girls there that way, so I gave my two weeks. Im sick of coming home and feeling like ****.

I feel a little irresponsibe that Im leaving a GREAT paying job but I have faith Ill find another job. I had an open call today at a new club thats about to open so pray for me GIRLS!! I cant afford to go broke a few months before the wedding. I hope I did the right thing. I just feel like it was either the money or my sanity and you all know which one you would choose. Sorry so long.

GOOD FOR YOU for having the nerve to quit! It says a lot about you that you won't stand to be treated like that hon!

Thank you for that. It makes me feel better to hear that because part of me is saying maybe I should have put up with it just for the weddings sake but I was seriously faling into a depression from the way I was being treated.

I just went through the same thing at a restaurant. It sux and there is a lot of pressure on ya! I found a great new job, but I can't start for 5 weeks. We are a little stressed now, with the whole $ situation. I hope everything works out for you. Good luck!

ETS: when I left my job, my boss said... Your lucky your an F***ing girl, cause I would beat the S**t out of you! meanwhile it was a very small upscale french restaurant in Babylon. The week before nobody showed up. I worked all by myself. No Bartender, no busboy, JUST ME! No one deserves to be treated like crap!

I just went through the same thing at a restaurant. It sux and there is a lot of pressure on ya! I found a great new job, but I can't start for 5 weeks. We are a little stressed now, with the whole $ situation. I hope everything works out for you. Good luck!

OMG I cant believe he said that to you. Good thing you left. I dont understand this attitude they get when they manage a restaurant. I guess theyre miserable and misery loves company.
Congrats on the new job though. Your money situation will get better once you start! Dont worry!

Good for you!!! Honestly, I worked for an abusive boss once and I stayed all of 3 weeks. I couldn't even stand looking at his face. It's not worth the money and you don't want to get stuck in a place like that. Nobody deserves to be treated like that, especially at work. I'm happy you left. Hopefully a great opportunity will come soon!! Best of luck!

I worked in restaurants for years as a waitress also. Restaurant/bar mgrs tend to be real hotheads, I'm sure you know. But they can't talk to you like that so good for you for leaving. Your next spot will be even better I'm sure. What club did you work at?

My friend worked at a popular NYC club and had problems with the manager and left for another place and is making good money. GOod Luck to you, i hope all goes well

i live in Babylon...what resturant are you talking about. Because my parents went to a french resturant not too long ago for dinner in town and they said the manager or whoever was very rude and they heard him yelling ro something!

i cant believe he said that to you...goood for you for leaving if i told fh that he said that to me he would be beating the crap outta that guy!!!

You absolutely did the right thing! Good for you... no one should speak to you or treat you like that. Things happen for a reason & I'm sure the next opportunity to come along will be even better!!!!

I think you are awesome and I hope in that situation I would do the same thing. No one deserves to be treated like that - don't doubt what you did, it shows you have guts and a lot of self-respect!!
