Gave my two weeks at work. (Vent)

Original post by Butterfly123

Ive been having issues at work with one of my managers. For those that dont know, I work at a restaurant/club in the city as a waitress. I try to stay out of his way because when he gets angry, he gets verbally abusive. He has even told me to, 'Get the Fcuck Out'. Because he was angry about something. He apologized the next day and I continued to work there. He still continued to find little things to pick on me about and last night was the last straw. He yelled at me for putting a pair of shoes in a drawer. And says it was 'F uckin stupid of me' I didnt get it at all so I had an is-he-serious look on my face and he says 'Its not f uckin funny dont laugh' I wasnt laughing. At that point, I was done. This isnt the first time he has spoken to me this way and he speaks to all the girls there that way, so I gave my two weeks. Im sick of coming home and feeling like ****.

I feel a little irresponsibe that Im leaving a GREAT paying job but I have faith Ill find another job. I had an open call today at a new club thats about to open so pray for me GIRLS!! I cant afford to go broke a few months before the wedding. I hope I did the right thing. I just feel like it was either the money or my sanity and you all know which one you would choose. Sorry so long.

I went through the same thing and I completely understand. My old boss used the 'F' word like it was 'the' or and'. The company liked me so much they offered me a new position and sent him to classes for anger management. I know my case is rare because I am still close with my old boss, but it was me who broke the camels back.

You are in my prayers to fimd something better. The pay may not be the greatest at first, but you will e better off in the long run

Good for you. No one should allow someone to talk to them way! You did the right thing! You will find something else.

Damn girl,

You def did the right thing. Sanity is more important!! Its hard when you need the money and its a good paying job but you did the right thing...whats the use making $$$ and felling like sh*t!!

Good luck and I hope you get this new job if not that one, something better will come your way.

I did it too..It was the best damn day of my life.

I had an abusive boss and realized that they needed me a hell of a lot more than I needed them.

But I took being unemployed really seriously. I got up everyday at 9 am, got dressed, had breakfast, looked for work, went to the post office to mail resumes and never let a doubt get in my mind, because I knew it had to get better--there was no way it could get worse... Now, I couldn't be happier at my new job. :)
