Gerber Daisy Brides (RP from BHB)

My cousin had her shower this past weekend and the theme was gerber daisies. Her FSIL bought some that morning and arranged them in small vases for the tables outside. The daisies lasted through the sun, then the pouring rain. We brought them in that night and didn't want to throw them out because they are so beautiful. Now it is 3 days later and they look just as perfect. I know some girl were nervous that they might not hold up, but they still look wonderful so have no fear!

Hey Jess that was me. I know they last well in vases. That was never the issue though people seem to have missed that point. My problem was that several florists (7 total), gardening articles on gerber dasies and an old copy of a bridal magazine I have somehwere, all say they don't do well in BOUQUETS when temperatures are very high (Like the end of July) even with a water source and I wanted them hand-tied. They can't guranatee they won't wilt.

Sure, there are always the ones that last just fine, but generally, they wilt and because they are a top-heavy flower, they can snap right off at the head. I just spoke to our new florist this weekend and he said the same thing so I am going to have the girls go with mixed boquets with two gerber per bo-k as the prominent highlighted flower.
My shower was last Saturday and we had gerbers. BEAUTIFUL flowers and they are still sitting fresh as the day is long on my kicthen table BUT in a VASE with water and plant food-not bare stemmed outside for 45minutes-1 1/2hrs without water.

They have to be wired which is what makes em expensive So we are going to steal another LI brides idea and use gerbers instead. I'll post the pic below. We are going to do the mockup sometime this weekend I think. Using less votives and the middle hurricaine is going to be filled with water and we are sinking one large gerber beneath on a bed or orange pebbles. We will also scatter rose petals around and in between like the second picture I poste below the first.

As for the wheatgrass, we are going to try and use the wheatgrass in smaller quantities in these cute wooden boxes we got at IKEA just as a decocration like by the card and cake tables. Cest la vie


Our CP idea but with gerbers and less votives and adding rose petals and gerber heads.
