My mom is insisting I sleep at her and my dad's house the night before the wedding. I think this is sweet, but it's 40 mins from the ceremony and reception location. I'd rather get my makeup done close to the ceremony time. Is anyone else in this boat? How are you arranging getting ready? Thanks.

i am getting ready about 30mins east of my wedding location.... i just wanted to be together with my girls and they are all Suffolk girls....Makeup and hair will start at 5am and we will be outta there by 845! I will still be at my RH 9hrs before the ceremony cause we are doing pictures before the ceremony and signing the Ketubah...

It's only a few miles away but we've got to go to Manhattan to go tot he church. I'm planning to leave 1:30 hour before the start time because I am always on time.

I am in the same boat. but honestly I got mine done at 7 am for my sisters wedding at 6 pm and it looked the same they just retouched it. I got it airbrushed and it was fine!

I'm getting ready at mt parents house but they're only 2 mins away from the church.....so i don't have that problem...sorry

My mom insisted on me sleeping over the night before and getting ready at her house too. I'm the only girl so I said Ok, it will be a longer ride to the church but who cares? I'll be so happy/excited/nervous that it won't really matter so I'm doing it to make her happy
ETA- I don't think 30 mins will make that much of a difference for your make up. JMO

I live in bk and our ceremony is in bk but my mom being old school insist I get ready @ their house and they live in Franklin square and I wanted to stay in bk get a hotel room for a dew hours to get ready with the girls...it's very inconvenient and annoying!!

I'm about 40 mins from my church & RH. My parents really want me to get ready at their house, esp bc it'll be easier for my BM but my photographer suggested getting ready closer to the RH so they don't have to worry about getting to the church late.
