Hi Jenn! I haven't had it done, but a lot of girls recommend taking a Tylenol an hour before you get waxed. Good luck!

Re: Getting WAXED!! ahhhhhh
I usually have two glasses of wine before a waxing.....it lets me relax (if you're tense or stressing, your pores tighten...making the waxing more painful when the hair is pulled out). I also pop 4 or 5 motrin (but I take two normally everyday----so for you---take two).Good luck....if your girl is good, you shouldn't be too bad. But, as a small warning, the first time I had it done....it was the single worst--most painful experience ever (until my knee surgery). The girl who did it the first time was REALLY bad!!!

Re: Getting WAXED!! ahhhhhh
Trust me, I did it for my friends wedding and it is over so quick, and there is no lasting pain. I put moisturizing cream on the area and it was fine. Do not get worried it is a little red and bumpy, it wont last. My friend got worried but they redness went away by that night.

Re: Getting WAXED!! ahhhhhh
It hurts but, it is soo worth it!! Just take some painkillers about 1-1.5 hours prior. And dont worry it will be over in 15-20 min. Just a comment. . . You will be addicted!

Take motrin or advil about an hour before. It will still sting but it won't HURT.

Re: Getting WAXED!! ahhhhhh
not Tylenol...take Advil or generic ibeprofen (sp?) that is an anti-inflammatory...it will reduce swelling and paindo not psych yourself out.....it does hurt when she is pulling it off and she should put pressure on the area she waxed immediately after (with her gloved hand!!) to helpease the pain. My lady would also blow lightly. I found certain areas hurt more than others...so I would ask her to leave a 'landing strip' or upside down triangle if you get my drift because that killed me...other girls it doesn't.

Re: Getting WAXED!! ahhhhhh
I second the Advil/Ibuprofen - thats what I take every time. 30 mins before hand. Just hold your breath and it will be over in a second!! It only hurts for about 2 seconds then it's as if it never happened (or at least thats my experience!).Good luck - its so worth it!!

Re: Getting WAXED!! ahhhhhh
Make sure that you carry on a conversation with your waxer to distract you. Mine is so good at this that I forget what she is doing and then don't tense up. It really does make a difference. It won't hurt afterwards only during but really briefly. Its not as bad as you would think.

Re: Getting WAXED!! ahhhhhh
ok girls im done! i wanted to check in with you all!she was AWESOME.. she came to my house and before she got there, called me to tell me to take the motrin, and so i did. (and a glass of hypnotique - that fabulous blue drink)
so she did my legs first, and it hurtl - when she yanked the hair out, but she put pressure on it, and i was fine.
now the brazillian. HOLY MOLY. first of all my legs and bikini took close to 2 hours - the girl that said 15 minutes was not talking about a brazillian wax, maybe just a bikini! ok, ladies, the ones that say it doesnt hurt. youre either lying or you have skin like leather, because i was totally seeing stars. (just when she ripped) there were a few spots where i thought i was going to throw up. and not to get graphic, but i figured hey, ive gone this far, i dont want a 'landing strip' that, my friends was STUPID. that was probably the most painful part. i dont know. but it was TOTALLY worth it!

Can someone suggest a really really good place near Massapequa? I've only been to places in the city so I want to try a place closer to home. And if you have a price range? Thanks!

I'm glad you got such good results. Thanks for your honest review of waxing--I'm a little more scared than I was, but it sounds like it was worth it!
