I haven't gotten a chance to come on and chat the past few days (I feel like I've missed so much lol) but let me just make my comeback with a little vent...

I think me and FH will just live in our parents houses for the rest of our lives. I swear that house hunting is the most frustrating, exhausting and stressful process EVER. We've been looking for over a year and are still houseless I'd rather plan 1,000 weddings for the same day than see another P.O.S. house It seems like this is about the only thing we can afford

Well it's a handy man special but you could make it cozy!

me and FH were talking about North Carolina at lunch saturday.

It seems as though there are not a lot of options for buying a house these days.

FH and I are going to stay here for maybe five more years save as much as money and move out of state because we can not EVER afford a house on LI.

Its so sad that you have to be DIRT poor to get assistance in housing or rich to live here.

North Kakalak, that's what they call it lol. Jess I would hate if that happened to me, FH's best friend moved down there about 7 years ago and he is full blown southern!!! If I ever uttered the words Ya'll out of my mouth I'd die

I feel your pain We planned on buying in March of 08, but FH is sick today & he's looking for this March (he has lost his mind, or maybe it's the fever)


We can't even move out eastern Long Island since his business is in NYC...

aww fh calls it north kakalaki. Just for fun I went on craigs list and searched for real estate of what we can afford in NC and then put the same price in for a search in LI, I can live in a shack (literally a shack) in huntington. or a 5 bedroom 3 story house in NC. Hmm, thats a tough one

I know. We looked in NC a little bit online (within the vicinity his friend lives) and also in St. Louis (FH's has a house there, it's not all that bad there) and it's disgusting...seriously disgusting to see what we can afford there as opposed to here. But then we're giving up 100% access to our families and friends (except on holiday's and when they visit us or we visit them) and the pay scale is slightly lower there. But what we have saved up now from our NY jobs can put a heftier down payment there.

..dont worry..everything will work out
