we're going to a wedding in a few weeks and i need advice on the gift we're going to give. long story short, it's a girl that said no to being a bm, didn't come to my shower or send a gift, and they sent us 2 salad plates and 2 pillow cases as our wedding gift (totally $20 in value). what/how much would you give them?

Re: gift advice
did they attend your wedding?
if they came, i'd say give her $20 of stuff also ... if they did not attend, give her $100.

I was thinking $100. It's way below what I would normally give someone. I would never be able to give $20 and feel right with myself.

actually, after re-reading your post, i changed my mind ... she didn't attend any of the events so technically she didn't NEED to get you a gift. If you are going to her wedding, i'd say you should give a normal gift (though maybe on the low-normal end). I'd prob give $150-$250 if you and your FH are both going.

You don't have to answer this if you don't want to...but I'm wondering why you guys would go to their wedding? Did they have a good reason for not going to yours?
Just curious. Because if it's not a good reason, I'd probably not even bother going to their wedding.

Re: gift advice
where is she having it? give enough to cover your plates... thats it.
FH and I went to a wedding a few weeks ago and gave much more then we should have... we pretty much covered our plates and the plates of our entire table! and we didn't give THAT much... but it was more than I could afford at the time... yea so last I heard she's not coming to my shower because she's putting her cat to sleep that day and I've heard through the grapevine that she's prob not going to come to our wedding and I doubt she'll send a gift.
some people are just messed up. but do what you feel is right.

Me too- I was actually gonna ask if you had to go, like if you sent the RSVP back already. If not, I prob wouldn't go

Re: gift advice
we're going bc we're going to visit my grandmother that weekend too since she's down there haha so it's kind a combo trip. plus a bunch of our college friends are going so it would be nice to see them. we don't have to pay for a hotel or anything since we're staying with my aunt and uncle...
it cost them $30 a plate for us to go and i already rsvp'd. i jsut dunno whether we should give them like $100 or something from their registry

Re: gift advice
I would just give a picture frame or something off the registry. Spend tops $50 or if you want to spend more get something from BBB and use the coupons.

Re: gift advice
I would give a gift off her registry...... ..........i went to a lifelong friends wedding last year and gave her way more than we could afford, well fast forward to my wedding/bridal shower....no response for the shower and no rsvp for the wedding.... ...............go with what YOU feel comfortable with
