My friend is having a very big first birthday party for her son. It will be in a hall. It is tomorrow and I have no time to shop...so i am going to give $$$. How much do you think is fair to give from me an dh?

$50?
That may be high- do you have time to go to a bank? You could get a $50 bond for $25.
I would totally get a bond. Maybe a $75er - for 37.50. I hated getting bonds as a kid, but was SOO happy when I had them to pay off some college loan debt.

i def. think i have to give at least 50... i am a little nervous that 50 may not be enough for the two of us....it's in a catering hall!!!!!!!

So spend $50 on a $100 bond- they're a great idea. What does a 1 year old need cash for. My sister's bonds kept her from needing a job when she was away at school.

I would get a bond for $200 - you will be spending $100....
by the way, in order to get a Bond today - you will require:
the boy's name, social security number, address, and their beneficiary information.

I am in complete agreement. I give bonds to 1yo's as gifts. What are they going to do with another tonka truck?
