I was planning on giving my parents and my future inlaws photo albums as gifts at the rehearsal dinner. Since the albums obviously won't be ready until weeks or months after the wedding, how do I present this as a gift at the rehearsal dinner?

You can make a little certificate on your computer like an IOU or you can present them with a tiny album of pictures that you have put togehter with pictures over the years!

is it really necessary to give them a gift at the RD? i am not planning on handing anything to my parents at the RD bc we are giving them the same thing (wedding album and dvd)...I figure they will just get it when its ready. should i reconsider?

What about a nice frame so they have something that night to open?

Re: Gifts for parents
Thanks for the responses, I also always thought the only the bridal party receives gifts at rehearsal dinner, but after reading some posts on here and on other bridal references, people also give gifts to the parents. I know my parents aren't expecting a gift, but I'm just concerned that my future in laws will expect some things. I can ask my FH, but I have a feeling he's just going to say 'i don't know.' Are you girls also exchanging gifts with your FH?
