Giorgio's or Woodbury Country Club? Please Help!

Giorgio's or Woodbury Country Club? Please Help!

My fiance and I equally love both places. The price is about the same, the date will be the same, the food is great.
The conerns I have are that Giorgio's is far out from my house (about an hour) but they have great photo ops and an hour and a half cockail hour and only do one wedding at a time.
The concerns I have with Woodbury is that the couple reviews I read said the food and gardens were A+ but the service was a B and I'm afraid there might be another wedding that day. The pros are I like the ceremony area and the gardens better and it is closer (about 30 min.)
I want to make sure my guests are taken care of. If you have used these places (especially I need more feedback on Woodbury) please help me make my decision by telling me about your experience with them.

I would go back to both places, say you're comparing them to another one, and see what they're willing to add to get you to book.

i can't speak about Giorgio's since i haven't been there, but i've never had any problems with WCC's service (i'm booked there and have met with them several times already).

also, they do have multiple weddings at a time BUT they do a pretty good job making sure the brides never meet.

I have never been to Woodbury Country Club, but I have been to Giorgio's. It was a really amazing place, I remember the cocktail hour food was outrageous, the ceremony was outside and was beautiful. It was a Saturday afternoon wedding and we drove there from Melville, it wasn't a bad ride there at all. Going home, I went back to Queens, and even that wasn't that bad, I thought it was worth the trip.

GIORGIO'S!!!

I ahvent been to WCC, so cant give an opinion. But here are my thoughts on Giorgios...

1. You work with the owners directly...which is a rare and amazing experience. They truly care about making you happy and will be on top of everything. This was one of the major reasons we booked with them.

2. It might be a bit far, but it's a great weekend destination. And since you are looking into Fall...it'sperfect time for guests to visit the wineries etc.

3. They have deals with local hotels...so you get free shuttling for your guests. This is a major plus. And the Best Western out there is under renovation and will open up as an Indigo Hotel...which from what I can tell will be beautiful.

4. One wedding at a time...so you wont be competing for attention from the staff, the kitchen etc.

5. The food is out of this world. Everyone I speak to says it is the best wedding food they have ever had...and comment it is nothing like wedding food. If you havent done a tasting...call and ask for one.

I could go on and on. Bottom line, I think you get a lot for your money. The hr and half cocktail hour is great for guests and the bride and groom. Gives you more time to say hi to people and get that out of the way before the event starts.

If you have any questions, feel free to FM me

giorgios hand down... IMO there's no comparison!

one wedding at a time is a huge pro! the place is beautiful and the food is great

and i agree that you can make it into a little 'destination wedding' people will prob get a hotel room and you can have brunch the next day with everyone

I know I'm biased, but we picked Giorgio's because we love it out east. Their service is fantastic, the owners are great to work with, I've never heard of a complaint and love the picture opportunities. I love that everything is in one place. I do admit that it is far and inconvenient for our guests, but most are staying with us in Riverhead and we're making a wknd out of it. Hilton Inn Express' rates were good and if you book 15 rooms, you get free shuttles all day. They have that agreement with Giorgio's.

It sounds like you really love Giorgios... just from the way you were describing the 2. I don't think that you shouldn't book there only because it's far away from your house. Don't worry about that, you will have a place to stay after and your guests will make it there.

I have never been to a wedding there but I had my prom there! not that it is in any way the same but it was beautiful! Lol.

Good luck either way your wedding will be amazing I am sure!

ITA. Everytime I've been to WCC, everyone has always been wonderful to us. All the people I know who've been to weddings there always have fabulous things to say about the food, service, and beauty of it.

Also, the main floor divides both rooms from each other, and they both have separate cocktail and garden areas. I honestly don't believe you'll run into the other bride.

Giorgios is beautiful but it was far from me too so it was out of the question.

I loved WCC because of the outside and the food and close distance. I have not had any issues with them and have had great customer service so far. You should go to their showcase on Feb 18th!

I'm getting married at Giorgios in august of 2011.... it was the first RH we visited, and we wanted to cancel every other appt. every other place we had booked to go visit.... we ended up calling three days later and running out with a deposit. LOVED everything about them. the service, the place, the food. i cannot wait. dream come true!

We book at WCC. We loved the outside areas and everyone there seems to be very nice and helpful. Two weddings at a time there does not seem to be an issue as the times are staggered and the bridal suites, bathrooms, etc. are all on separate floors.

We were curious if anyone had reviews on the food there as well. So if anyone has been to a wedding recently and could comment that would be great!

Funny, this is my second post today about Giorgio's. I went to a wedding at Giorgio's in 2005. I live in Astoria so it was an hour and a half away and I didn't stay at a hotel.. It didn't bother me but it was a day wedding so it helped that I wasn't driving home at 1 AM. Keep that in mind. The place was nice and the food was good but i have never been to woodbury country club so I can't compare.

If you want to try their food I would go to their showcase tomorrow it starts at 7pm.

I had 2 people tell me that the food was delic. I also tried a bunch of appetizers for CH and me and my brother both loved it.

I've been to weddings at both -- I would definitely say Giorgio's. Great food, great service, and there is only one wedding at a time.
