You're in-laws are being ridiculous!! Ronkonkoma to Wading River is not a long distance to drive. I had family coming from Brooklyn, Staten Island, and Jersey out to Bayport. DO NOT concern yourself with this. Everyone has had to travel to a wedding at some point in their life. You do it because you care about that person and you want to celebrate with them.

I am speechless at the lack of respect you girls are showing one another. I think alot of you need to do alot of growing up....sorry if I am being so blunt but you girls are going too far.

Chrissy I agree with you 100%. I would hate for my relatives to be so petty that they complain about the date of my wedding. Honestly, stefanief, she was just expressing her opinion. I don't think that there's any need to call people childish.

i'm gald i missed this, this person sounds insane! weddings happen on holiday weekends and people travel, often at the same time! why the hell does z100 think they are the authority.

we traveled from farmingdale to east wind and we also traveled from baldwin to aquebogue, no complaints here, and the aqueboque wedding was on a thursday!

i don't get people

actually to be honest that girl is just disrespecting us.. if she has a problem about people getting married on holidays that strongly then she shouldn't post it on a board where there are a ton of holiday brides..and I really don't think we are not 'respecting' any LIW girls here... that person who posted that just signed up to post that..my opinion.. its a Z100 person defending Danielle...not an LIW bride (whom we all respect and love)


I have already said my peace, we need to respect everyone, even if they are not an LIW bride

Oh I agree with you it is just one persons opinion, but sometimes when you hear these things being said even if it is not directly about you, it can get under your skin. No matter what any one else thinks, our days will be the happiest day of our lives.

Exactly, I was not trying to start drama, just trying to play devils advoccate, like who cares what ANYONE thinks about your wedding, the important thing is that we are getting married

its not even the bride that is stressing, its her il's that have the problem.

I agree 100%. It just bothered me that this person only posted 6 times (2 times before today) and then comes onto a thread where 3/4 of the brides are getting married on a holiday weekend and states that she is annoyed that she can't go away because her cousin booked a holiday weekend. JMO, but I think that was VERY rude! That is like me going onto 'the official (name of RH) thread' and stating that I don't want to go to that RH because it is too far from my house and I can't believe that my cousin booked there wedding there. I would obviously offend a lot of the brides and grooms that are getting married there, so that is something that I would not say. I understand it is nice to be honest, but to be rude is a different story. Don't join this site and only post 6 times and then go onto a thread where you are going to offend a majority of the brides.

FH & I booked our date for whatever reason we decided to (I posted earlier), and we could not be happier!! And I know a lot of people on here feel the same way about there date, but it was a rude comment that was made, and it just upset a few of us.

All of our days are going to be beautiful and filled with lots of love and happiness, and I could not be happier for every one of us!!!!!

you can't please everyone- who cares- as long as you are happy

I got a lot of grief for getting married in December- I didn't let it bother me- and it was my Grandma who was giving it to me the most

ok, i responded to this when it was first posted yesterday about people disliking long drives. i said that i actually enjoyed the long and scenic ride out to my cousin's wedding last july which was at giorgio's. i also felt that EW was not too far out by any means at all...

about the holiday weekend. IMO I don't mind attending a wedding at that time at all. Even at a very busy time like x-mas I enjoy going to weddings because of all the beautiful holiday decorations and it gives you a chance to just enjoy yourself in the middle of the hustle and bustle with shopping. Also, if it were Labor Day weekend or Memorial Day weekend I would WANT to go to a wedding because at a wedding what are you doing? You are partying just like you would be anywhere else... ok, maybe you are in a dress instead of jeans but you are still dancing, drinking and eating. I think they would be so much fun.

Infact, a girlfriend of mine just got engaged recently and she was trying to decide between a date in October and New Years Eve (only two dates her place had available for 06-- the NYE one was a recent cancellation) and I told her to do the New Years Eve one-- because then we'll have somewhere to go for sure instead of trying to decide where to go celebrate and at least we'll be with people we know and love-- and enjoy being around. FH and I always go out on NYE anyway and that's at least 120-150 bucks a pop so at least if I'm paying that much money anyway it is going to someone I care about. I'm really looking forward to it actually.

So that's just how I feel personally and my FH agrees-- we are excited about that wedding and we very much enjoyed the last wedding we went to (Thanksgiving weekend). Hope that makes all the holiday brides feel better!!

Everyone has their own opinions when it comes to weddings. I had my wedding on a Friday night, and had to deal with so much crap from relatives. Even some of my bridesmaids had issues, because it interfered with mid-terms. Who Cares!!! Whoever wants to be there, will be. My DH's family were the worst and some even refused to take the day off. You can never please everyone, so as long as you're happy it really doesn't matter.

We didnt get married on a holiday weekend,,but we did get married on a Sunday night. We wanted a Saturday night in October...the next Saturday night wasnt until November 26th. Didnt want to wait so we settled. I am more than sure some guests complained..Did I care..NOPE! I have done my share of traveling for others weddings on Friday, Saturday and Sunday's.. and if they want to share the day with us,,they were going to attend regardles of what day and time our wedding was...

IF going to a wedding has become a chore for you,,then RSVP NO for now on...do everyone a favor and save the bride and groom 200 bucks!!!!!!!

yes, me too... weddings are such a happy occasion no matter what and when people rain on other people's parade it's just not nice. brides and grooms should always be supported in their decisions!
