I had a DOC and honestly, although she was great, I didn't feel like she was needed as much as i had anticipated! Our maitre D and bridal attendant at CHCC were so amazing that they really ran the show and maybe this was just my personal experience but i didn't feel it was totally necessary to have one. Definitely she helped bring the things to the RH and set everything up how I wanted, she also went to the hotel to make sure the bridal party and DH were on time which realllllly alleviated stress but once the wedding actually began I felt it wasn't really necessary. JMO

I don't think so. What exactly would you want your DOC to do? I mentioned it to my mom at one point, who said that at all of our previous events the maitre'd handled the vendor-wrangling.

DOC IS handing out tips
lighting candles
laying out flower petals in the aisle.
decorating the aisles with ribbon.
setting up favors
patrolling the sig drink scene and making sure that the tops are rimmed with the gold sugar we bought
setting up the library with our digital frames and photo booth props
giving me back my sanity
controlling momzilla
handling any issues without me knowing
My DOC is aware of flowers I dont want in my centerpieces and she stated that she would have no prob cutting them out before I see them. My DOC is a saint and she has helped me with a great deal of my wedding stress.

pretty much this! with a few tweeks for my own needs lol

At first we weren't, but now FH and I are 99% sure we're going to have one. There's just too much to worry about and I want to make sure FH and I aren't worrying about anything

LOVE this list! I've decided to get one I just don't want to think about one thing that day except enjoying being married lol. FH felt the same, and he wanted to book a DOC before I did lol Go figure ;)

omg that's more of the reason to get one. lol

my doc made sure the guys and girls were ready and everything was okay.I had a big bridal party as well.. and even some of my girls were raving about her and how much she helped out.

the bridal attendant catered to me, but when my bridesmaid broke a strap on her dress - it was my DOC who jumped in to the rescue.

yes, we're getting one. With our children as the bridal party, we need someone to grab all of them (6), not including flower girls, MOH, etc for pics and to help with the mishaps. And you know there will always be a mishap with so many children around....
