well are your girls in short dresses?

i dont know i guess cuase i would never expect my mom or his mom in short dresses, and for ALLLLLL of the weddings i have ever been to i have NEVER seen a mom in a short dress. (ive seen pants before ive seen short dresses!)

go change your date to a winter wedding so she freezes her arrse off!

ask her if she wants to blend in with all the other guests? doesnt she want to feel special?

I agree!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know how she could, I have been nothing but sweet to her!!!!!!!

have your FH say something to him, it would be weighted more coming from 'her baby'

who knows, maybe she is just unaware.

My mom and FMIL are wearing knee length, but that is because our wedding is informal.

Tell her you would like her in long. If she doesn't listen, no biggie

All the girls are wearing long dresses!!!!!!!!! I don't know if any of you were here or remember, but she was giving me and fh a hard time recently. she said some not so nice things about me and is less then thrilled that her baby is getting married. So honestly, no I can't tell her that it should be long.

at this point then you should just leave it alone, she is only hurting herself because she will look stupid not you, if anything it will show that she gave you a hard time and went against what you wanted. im sorry i know how it feels to deal with ppl that dont want to cooperate.

Don't mother of the brides and mother of the grooms always wear long dresses. Fhs Mom got a short dress and I feel like she should be more dressed up!!!! Right now I am a little upset!!! Do you think I'm wrong? I knew this would happen!!!!

i didnt read what any one else said, so i dont know if iam being redundant. but FH mother said she didnt want to spend more than 100 bucks on a dress, then insists she will wait to see whats in the stores a week or two prior. this upset me. i talked to friends & family about it, and the conclusion was that she can show up in sweats and she wouldnt bother me at all, she has to look at the same pics and reflect 'why would i have dressed like that to MY BABYs wedding'.
YOU will look stunning, and YOU are who every one will have their eyes on. :)

sooooo true! She is going to be the one to look back and realize she looked like a turd when everyone else is dressed to the nines

um? arent moms supposed to wear long gowns?? LOL

i dunno maybe im being old fashioned?

well in any case - both moms in my wedding are wearing dark blue... they both wanna wear blue and at first i was like UM NO bc #1 my girls are in blue and #2 i didnt want them to match...
now i dont even care LOL
as long as everyone is happy!

Needless to say - if YOU hate the dress she wants to get, then let her know - or to avoid drama, just let her wear whatever she wants!

The moms dont have to wear long dresses. My mom wore a short dress to my 1st wedding. It was a day wedding though.

Shes just being difficult in your case. I dont know if its worth the fight. Let FH handle it and if she refuses to behave she'll be the one to look out of place
