All the girls are wearing long dresses!!!!!!!!! I don't know if any of you were here or remember, but she was giving me and fh a hard time recently. she said some not so nice things about me and is less then thrilled that her baby is getting married. So honestly, no I can't tell her that it should be long.

at this point then you should just leave it alone, she is only hurting herself because she will look stupid not you, if anything it will show that she gave you a hard time and went against what you wanted. im sorry i know how it feels to deal with ppl that dont want to cooperate.

I went to a wedding on a Friday night, and the grooms mother wore a short dress. I really didnt think too much about it. I mean i noticed, but it was a nicer dress than the guests were wearing.

Think of it this way.. some BRIDES change into short dresses for their own wedding.. so who cares if his moms wearing one :)

I have seen MOB or MOG wear a shorter dress but I think its better that they wear gowns.. They are supposed to stand out!

I completely feel your pain hunny! My FMIL hasn't even begun looking at dresses nor shown the slightest interest .... she will probably get one the week before the wedding or just show up in slacks!!!

Atleast you know yours will be wearing something .... mine is still pending

ITA!!! Yeesh she sounds like the wicked witch of the west!!

I would nudge FH to talk to her about how she should stand out.

If I was you I would keep talking up my mom's dress and how she will stand out and look beautiful for her daughter on her day?

I am pretty sure this is going to be me soon though. Not the short dress, but the difficulty with dress/colors.

I'll Be pissed the f**ck off.

Not cool, she needs to look extremly elegant and I'm not sure a short dress is going to cut that.
