Girls ... my grandma died.

Girls ... my grandma died.

We have been expecting it for some time now. I just feel absolutely horrible for my dad - it's his mom - how is he going to be happy at wedding events? She's been sick for a while and this is the best thing for her and everyone - she is at peace - but my grandpa, aunt and dad are of course going to feel it the most and it makes me so upset that it has happened at what is supposed to be such a a happy time.

In between the phone calls with my mom, I spoke to my hair salon -- my hair stylist, who I've been seeing for over 10 years and know pretty well, has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Please pray for my family, that we are able to see the good in this (she's no longer in pain) ....

im so so so sorry to hear about your grandma

last year my FHs grandma passed away - they were kind of waiting for her to pass as well, she was old and sick......so it wasnt a shock, but still VERY sad and it was hard on his mom and her sibilings - i honestly dont think it will put a damper on your wedding, it will give everyone a chance to get out of the dumps and celebrate - which is what people need in a time like this....

Jen I am so sorry to hear this. It is never easy even when it is expected and especially so close to your wedding.

You may be surprised and you may find that a happy occassion is just what everyone needs to help them get through this. I am sure your grandmother would want only tears of Joy on Saturday and now she will be there with you which is what I am sure she wanted -- not lying in bed in pain on your wedding day.

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers

Thank you .... Your post made me all out weep, but it's ok, it reminded me of how she was when she was younger - she was a great singer, piano player, spunky ... lately she was just in bed (for the last few years ... she had alzheimers and diabetes, bad) ... but when I was younger, I remember her as being very vibrant and your comment about her being remarkable made me remember to only think of her that way. Thanks

My grandmas passed away 2 weeks ago. She had been suffering since January. Like you say, its the best that they pass on and no longer suffer. You just have to keep telling yourself that.

Just remember, that she will be there with you on Saturday

I am very sorry for your loss, if we have months to prepare, or minutes, it is NEVER easy.

Your very welcome. ANything I can do to make you feel better. Remembering all the good times rather than the suffering, and them being sick is what she would have wanted. Now Iam teared up! I love that you can remember the spunk she had. My grandma also was a spunky Gal and loved singing too. Your grandma and my grandma are on a new journey now. They are at peace. Who knows maybe our Grandmas will be friends and are right now hanging out singing a tune or two, and partying it up!! Godbless them both. I wish you nothing but the best for your family.

Aww thanks sweetie. The image of her singing and having a good time is certainly a good one.
