Girls on Yaz...any strange side effects?

08er crashing.

I was on Yaz and loved it... then all of a sudden I was getting the hives all day, everyday, so my doctor switched me over to Yazmin. within 2 days of being on the pill I had stroke symptoms and they sent me to the hospital.

What kind of syptoms are you having?

anxiety symptoms, my chest is killing me, barely any period just blood clots....ive been really really dizzy lately (but i may have an ear infection)

I'd see your doctor. I also had chest pains and something was off with my balance/focusing, etc. I was getting dizzy often and I was having a hard time getting my words out. It's not worth waiting out, I'd call your doctor immediately.

feel better and let me know how you make out. Don't let them tell you that what you feel is 'nothing'. If you don't feel right, switch pills. I wish I would have listened to my body sooner.

I take ortho-tricyline lo which has the lowest amount of hormones out of all birth control pills. I plan on going off of it pretty soon though probably like right after we get married. I've been taking it for a long time and they same the the pill (in some girls) can interfere with you getting pregnant. So FH and I want to wait until a year after we are married to start trying so I want to be off of it for a complete year as well. There are so many side effects from any medication whether it be over the counter or prescriptions and I feel like if it's causing physical side effects who knows what could be going on that we do know about from any pill we take. So I don't want any of it my body before getting pregnant if that makes any sense.

I was on this one too and everything was fine untill I got pregnant with my son on it and my sister the same thing too got pregnant on it like 3 years before me.

Wow, it's crazy to think your taking this pill everyday and it turns out to not work. I know another girl that this happened to but I'm not really sure which pill she was on.

My doctor said that it will take 4-6 month for your body to adjust to the different hormones, but it sounds like you are sure something is wrong, so go to your doc asap. I am on Yaz and I actually like it a lot in comparison to all the other pills, I was on and Nuvaring, which seemed like a great idea, but gave me urinary infections every month, which I never had before. tmi sorry.
I feel less emotional and I have no sideeffects really, but I am counting down the days until I am off the pill though, which will be right after my wedding. .

I tried the nuva ring also and it made me really sick I was only on it for a lil over 2 months and the doctor wanted me to stay on it and I told them no I went away for a week and the whole time i was sick in bed so I wasnt giving it more time.

I wanted to go on Yaz and my doc said no. She said she never prescribes it because of the potassium overload a lot of women experience.

ive been on yaz for a few months now. i actually made a post a while back bcuz the only side effect i got from it was that my boobs went up a whole cup size! a lot of girls responded that they too experienced the bigger boob syndrome. some also said after a few months they went back to normal.

the symptoms you are experiencing can definitely be a potassium overload! My best friend had the same reaction.

I'm on a potassium supplement for another reason and I know that if I eat a banana every single day or drink too much OJ or eat too much spinach, I feel sick. My gyno would never put me on YAZ for this reason. She said, for a lot of women it's just too much potassium for their bodies to process.

Holy MOley!

I just got off the phone with the doctor and he said the same thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He said that I shouldn't have a banana a day, and the banana yogurt, and I take vitimin with a large dose of potassium...

He said that I may have a potassium over dose and need to stay on a starchy diet for three days... and lots of apples.

I have to see him tomorrow for blood tests

the starchy diet should help - it does the trick for me when I've had too much potassium.

Good luck with the blood work and let us know how you make out.

It made me a crazy Bio t. c h! I stopped taking it after the 1st month.

me + birth control pills = crazy emotional lunatic

i have a friend who got blood clots in her lungs from yaz. she was hosptalized and it as very serious. i used totake yaz and didnt like it.

i would suggest a different pill.
