Ive narrowed it down to these two... however, I think I am also going to ask her for white background, last name in black and our names in red... which hopefully she will provide a sample... but for now I need help in deciding.. I am leaning towards the one with the white background and dark brown font color
Personally, I think the second one is easier to read. But ask her to make a third, with the black and red like you asked. She'll definitely do it; she made me a ton of proofs before I decided.

Yeah I love too many and all these choices make it that much more difficult lol.. I think the silver is easier to read also, I want maybe a red in there however I am trying to choose colors that will go with alot of things... me and fh have not moved in together yet and we dont have a clue what color the paint in our house will be or furniture so I dont want it to clash lol not that the plaque will take up half the living room Lauraaaaaaaa.... lol what do you think about the red??

I really like the second one-it's easy to read and I think it looks very classic. But if it's not what you want ask for another proof. Do you have any ideas about colors of your new place?

I agree with the rest that the 2nd one is mich easier to read... see if she could modify the 1st one to make it more legible.

ITA - however I would like to see it in black and red.
As far as your decorating colors, you could always keep a neutral scheme and then throw in a pop of red (blanket, pillow) so the plaque would match!
