Girls that selected jim hjelm bridesmaid dresses

Well it is two months from wedding and my bridesmaids have all picked up their gowns. We chose Style No. JH5819 and my girls all tried on the dress before we selected it. the dress hem touched the floor when we ordered them. Based on that fact I allowed my girls to choose any gold shoe for the wedding. Well the dresses are here and the hem does not touch the floor and the shoes will be visible. I do not want six different shades of gold when the shoes are visible. Did the dress salon screw me or the dresses not floor length. Please post pics if you have any pictures of your bridesmaid in this dress or any jim hjelm dress. Thank you in advance.

are your girls tall? are they wearing tall heels? i dont know jim hjelm dresses very well, but i would imagine the dresses should be floor length.

when my girls got fitted for their dresses, the woman helping my tallest BM (5'6ish) asked her how tall of a heel she planned to wear, and cautioned her that she would need extra length with anything over ~ a 2' heel. my friend wasn't planning to wear a tall heel, and stuck with the regular length. when her dress came in it needed just the slightest hem (since we had the train removed and an even hem). if she went with a higher heel like many of the other girls, her dress would have been too short.

i think the bridal shop should have warned you that they might need extra length if they would be cutting it close. not sure how short the dresses are, but nobody will pay attention to the shoes especially if they are all gold. if the dresses are too short, it might look funny though. maybe they can let down the hem a little?

worst case, your girls might have to pick shorter heels of their choice

For Jim Hjelm dresses, if you are above 5'6, you should order extra length. I had to get that when I was a BM in my cousin's wedding. It adds an extra 6 inches, then of course most girls would need a hem, but it makes sure that the dresses would be long enough. Find out if the bridal salon your girls ordered from told the tall girls to order extra length.

My tallest girl is 5'7 and 1/2 and she is wearing four inch heels. I wish they would have mentioned extra length when we ordered the the dresses.

I guess I am going to have to ask them to wear shorter heels.

Keep in mind that they may not be able to return shoes at this point. IMO this is really not a big deal.
Honestly, the eyes will be on you & not looking at the BM shoes to see what color gold they are.

my girls are wearing Jim Hjelm and my tallest bridesmaid is about 5'10 and not too short on her at all -- it needs a hem and she didn't get extra length.

Your bridal shop should have measured for length.

Personally not worth asking your girls to change their shoes -- NO ONE will notice.
