Girls using a DJ

How many must play or suggested songs are you giving them?

FH and I began a list but there are so many. I don't want to tell them how to do their jobs. Ya know? I have total faith in Tommy Tunes that they will be great. Should I just give them maybe like 10 and let them work off the crowd?

Also do you think it's more important to give more DO NOT play songs rather than must play?

I definitely feel like a do not play list is more important than a MUST play list. I think giving them 10 or so songs that you have to hear is a good idea and let them work with the crowd for the rest. I'm also going to let our DJ know that we want him to take crowd requests!

I am doing a do not play list and a few must play songs list. The rest I just want them to do a good mix so everyone would be happy

best advice i can give u si to give them the specific songs you need them to play (enterance, 1st dance, parents, cake cutting)

ALLOW them to do their jobs. theres a reason why you hired them. You can give them a few songs they MUST play and a few on the DO NOT PLAY..

but to give them a lost of 100 songs is insane lol.. why not dj yourself? lol

also a 'good' dj gets a feel for the crowd.. just because YOU like a certain song..doesnt mean other people do. their job is to keep ppl on the dance floor... and they are the pros. sit back and enjoy your partyyy

thats what I was thinking. Trust me out must play list got a little long bc we got a little (okay, a lot) drunk while YouTube-ing old songs we USED to love. LOL

I'm more worried about my DO NOT play list... (so help me god if I hear the electric slide or the chicken dance) I may give them a list of 10 songs that I would like to hear... some that I know me and my friends like but not a ton. I have some friends who are DJs and I know they hate when they're given a list because basically they just become a living iPod.

We gave the DJ about 20-25 songs. Primarily so he could get an idea what type of reception we want.
