Did they force you to pick up your dress early? I went for my first fitting last weekend and they made me schedule an appointment for January 16th to go for my second fitting. At my second fitting they said I will be taking my dress home. I don't want to take it home. That is a month away from my wedding. I don't want them to steam it a month in advance and then have to bring it home, it will get all crinkled in the stupid bag. I was thinking of calling a week before and cancelling the January 16th appointment, telling them I can't make it, and rescheduling for a date closer to the wedding. Think that will work?

Yep...that should work. I will be doing the same thing if they try to pull that crap with me!

Yes, that should be fine.
Although the reason they want you to take the dress home with you is for liability reasons. And I'd feel better having the dress in MY posession. You know what I'm saying? They should hang it well enough so the dress doesn't crease.

my girls got their dresses at davids...i am going to try to hold off on having them pick them up for as long as possible. they come so quickly there. and i'm not getting married for another ten months. what are they supposed to do with the dresses for ten months???

They didnt pull that with me at all..I pick mine up two days before I leave for my wedding..they were AWESOME..but I went to one in jersey and its been a GREAT experience, they havebeen wonderful!!

My sis picked her dress up about 3 months before the wedding. Then she had to bring it to NY for the wedding. She brought it back to Carl Place1 week before the wedding and had them steam it again. They were suposed to do it on the spot but told her it would be ready in 3-5 days. When she went back 2 days before the wedding, they couldn't find her dress and when they did, it wasn't even done yet.
