Girls who have been to Italy!

What kind of clothes should FH and I pack? I don't want us really looking touristy. Personally, I want to look nice but also be comfortable. Can someone help me out?

Re: Girls who have been to Italy!

What time of year are you going? Just from personal experience I lived in Florence from May through August during college and it was definitely summer weather everywhere we went. The most important thing to remember is to pack good walking shoes. I had brought Keds with me and boy did I regret it. My feet were bleeding by the end of the first week. Also, things that are lightweight and easy to wash in the sink if necessary worked out the best. Things that don't wrinkle that much. Usually jeans are a give away that your tourists, but I would bring a pair or two in case you get cool weather. I know in Florence people were dressed nice, but not as dressed up as people were in Capri. Venice is definitely dressy at night. Where are you going? Let me know if you need any information. Like I said I lived in Florence and traveled all over.

We're going in mid June. We are doing a tour of Rome, Florence, Venice, Assisi, Piza, and some other areas. Obviously we will look like tourists since we are on a tour, lol. But I figure at least I can dress a little nicer than a tourist.

Trust me, as long as you don't wear hula shirts and cameras around your necks you'll be fine. During the day most people just wear normal comfortable clothes. Definitely bring something nice for the nightime in Venice. It's so romantic with everyone listening to the music in Piazza San Marco. I can't wait to go back. We're going to Zurich for two days, then to Lake Como, Verona, and Venice. I wish we had time for more.

Also (we're going on a Med cruise for our HM) no shorts in the churches & shoulders/legs need to be covered so work that into your clothing as well

Legs completely covered? How about capris or skirts?
