I've made a few of them, most recently for FSIL & her DH, I used a glue gun to attach the wood bottom, and covered it with black (it matched the frames) super thick foam paper. It is super easy and took maybe 20 minutes to make the photo cube, with a glue gun.

Let me just start by adding that this was def not my idea LOL. I got from past LIW brides. My top will be similiar to theirs.
Using a thin piece of wood. On top of that will be batting and then fabric. The fabric will be pulled and tucked under the wood and then stapled. Similiar to how cornases(sp?) (above windows)are made. My aunt is gonna make that for me. That should be done on sunday, so I'll have pics for you then
