We just listed our names 'request the honor of your presence' with no mention of parents. It would've been too complicated to list and FH didn't like the way 'together with their families' sounded. My mom didn't mind and she was the only one I was really concerned about not offending.

I included both sets of parents..... We are paying for everything but my parents are paying for my dress, shoes, and tiara... and as of now FH's parents have not contributed.

Thisis what we did:
My Name (Bride) daughter of Mom & da's names
&
FH name (groom) Son of his Mom & da's names
request the honour of your presence.....ect......
Even though we are paying for everything ourselves we really wanted to recognize them.

We didn't include our parents...even though we paid for it 100% by ourselves the thought of whether they paid or not didn't come to mind. We just picked a verse that we really liked and no parents were mentioned. Seriously...does that sound weird?

We did it like this

and
James William son of Mrs. XXX Mr. XXX (FH parents are divorced so we put their names on seperate lines)
request the honour of your presence at their marriage

We are paying 100% ourselves, but my parents would be really hurt if I didn't acknowledge them at all. So this was ours:
I thought I understood what love was, then I met you and I knew.
Kara & Dean
Together with their parents
Request the pleasure of your company to share in the celebration of their marriage On Sunday, the First of October Two Thousand and Six at 11:15 in the morning

'together with their families'.....mostly out of respect for what our parents wish they could contribute.

We are just making from the two of us. No parents' name.
Same here, we just put our names on the invite.
