We paid for most it and we put Ms. so and so and Mr. and Mrs. So and so request the honor of your presence... We didn't care about the money thing.

we are paying for the majority of it, but we still included both sets of parents, which was fun since his parents are divorced and both remarried!!

Re: Girls who payed for the wedding themselves...how are you wording the invites?
I am struggling with this myself. My mother is helping with a bit, his mother couldn't be more disinterested, and both of our fathers have passed. So I think it might sound funny saying 'together with their parents' since we only have mothers. I am not inclined to name his mother specifically.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Re: Girls who payed for the wedding themselves...how are you wording the invites?
even though we paid for the wedding our selves, we felt out of respect for our parents to put both names on the invites and so we did:
Mr. & Mrs (brides parents) Mr & mrs. (Grooms parents) Request the honour of your presence at the marriage of their children..

We're paying 100% for everything so the invites are just our names.

I included parents names.
So did we. We worded it the traditional way (Mr. & Mrs. X and Mr. and Mrs. Y invite you blah blah blah)
However, in hindsight, I would have worded it as Jane SMith daughter of Jody Smith
& John Doe Son of Mr. & Mrs. Smith
invite you blah blah blah
BJ did it this way and I thought it was great.

We decided to name our parents on the invites whether they contributed or not.
