I havent gotten my dress yet but from what I hear, its like a 4 in most designers, maybe a 6

I am a size 12 (or was at the time of ordering my dress , now a 10!) and they made me order a 16 and sure enough, it was big when I got it on. I would have been better off with a 14... Just to give you an idea.

I was a size 8 in my dress...and a 2-4 street size!!!! dresses run way big!

My wedding gown is a size 10 (and it is tight!!!)... I wear an 8 most often, but I can sometimes fit into a 6!

i am about a size 6 and i ordered a 12 dress....a 10 woulda been ok but i have a large chest and i wanted to make sure it would fit over the boobs...so its def gonna have to get taken in.

I am a 10 in regular clothes and my dress was a 12. It fit perfectly; just had to have the shoulders taken up half an inch.

You can't compare street size to dress size - the wedding dress is ordered based on your LARGEST measurement - so, if you've got a tremendous bust but slender waist / hips, you may be ordering a 16 dress, but really wear like a 6 in jeans. Plus, each manufacturer has their OWN sizing chart, so you may be a 10 in a Demetrios dress and a 4 in a Maggie Sottero dress. Sorry to rain on your debate!

Size 4/6. I need it taken in too. Usually wedding dresses seem to run around two sizes bigger than your street clothes. Not always, but most people wear a larger size in bridal than street clothes.

My dress is a 10 and I wear a 4 in pants(6 in jeans) and never bigger than in 8 in normal dresses. ( I have a rather large chest) Wedding dress sizes are definately not real world sizes!

This is depressing.....oh I need to loose this baby weight....I know she is only 4 mths but still...wedding s Oct. I hate going to stores and trying on dresses

This is very true! I have a dimetrosis gown that is very close to/is the street size (size 4). I tired on other designers in 10 and 12s and some fit, some were big... they went by measurements and my dress fits well (starting Wedding mode diet/excercise when i get back to houston!)
