Girls who wore a size 10 wedding dress

I'm a size 12 in street clothes but was ordered a size 18 dress

I ordered a 10 melissa sweet dress and I'm a size 4 typically.

I did try on my bm dresses which are also melissa sweet and the size 6 Bm dress fit me perfectly. So...I don't know.

oh, i just answered on your other post, but I'll answer here also -

Basically my dress was a size 8 and in 'real' life i'm a size 9. So it actually went DOWN. But I think it has to do with the style of my dress. It had a corset back, and if that kind of dress is too big it'll tie too tight and just not look right. The whole point is to see the threading, so it had to a little smaller on me. (I think it could have even gone down a little more, since it still felt a tiny bit lose no matter how tight we tied it)

Same here! I have a size 10 dress and I'm a 2-4 in street clothes!

i cried and never went back to dress shopping after my 1st time .

i am a 'perfect 10' in dresses... and im lke ***!!!!!!! thats DOUBLE DIGITS!!!! (yes,i cried )

so i never went back.. i guess they DO run big cuz u girls are tiny and all got size 10..

cuz street size im a 4.. size 26-28 in jeans.

blah..if anything the dresses should run opposite so us brides could feel more sexy lol

You can't compare street size to dress size - the wedding dress is ordered based on your LARGEST measurement - so, if you've got a tremendous bust but slender waist / hips, you may be ordering a 16 dress, but really wear like a 6 in jeans. Plus, each manufacturer has their OWN sizing chart, so you may be a 10 in a Demetrios dress and a 4 in a Maggie Sottero dress. Sorry to rain on your debate!

I totally agree... I wear a 6-8 in regular clothing and any dress I have tried on is anywhere from an 8-12. Really who cares what size the dress is as long as you feel amazing in it!?

i st.pucchi dress was ordered in a 10. i wear between a 0 and a 4. crazzzzyyy.

My dress is a 4 and I am a 0-00.

I wanted to add...you guys are too hard on yourselves.

The dress should fit the biggest part of your body. So if you have a bigger chest, you may need a bigger size! It may be small elsewhere.

ohh i know how you feel and my son is 14 months, but i am now finally even less than i was before i was pregnant thank god! you can totally do it!!


eta: to answer the actual ? i haven't gone dress shopping yet, but i'm glad i read this beforehand so i don't feel bad when i'm like a size 8 or 10 in my dress, because i'm 0-2 in street clothes

Exactly...I tried on my street size in an Alfred Angelo gown and it was too big. I ordered one size smaller and it fit perfectly.....
