Girls with cathedral length veils

I'm having a 1 layer about elbow length and another cathedral length veil. Should I have the elbow length on velcro so I can take it off for the pictures or would it look ok in the pics. Any pics you have to share would help to ease my mind too!

Re: Girls with cathedral length veils

i bought a separate blusher from david's bridal, which you stick underneath your cathedral veil. as soon as the ceremony was over, i took the blusher off--i like the look of an elegant cathedral veil by itself.

I am doing the same thing! My blusher is on a smaller comb, which I will remove after the church.

Re: Girls with cathedral length veils

i have the same type of veil as you. i was planning on keeping them together and then removing the cathedral veil after my Mass and major pics and then just wear the elbow length the rest of the day. i liked the layered look. made it look fuller.

Re: Girls with cathedral length veils

I am wearing the blusher for the church along with the cathedral veil. I am taking off my veil after the first dance. I will only be wearing my tiara the rest of the night.

Re: Girls with cathedral length veils

I have a cathedral veil with three layers total that are not detachable. I plan on taking it off at after the first dance. Originally, I wanted to wear it all night and before I bought it, the bridal salon said I could get it bustled in the back so it didnt drag, but now they are saying I cant because I didnt buy it from an exclusive vendor.

Re: Girls with cathedral length veils

I wore a cathedral length with a blusher and left both on until after the first dance. I'll see if I can find a picture.

eta: You can't really see the blusher in this first picture, but I liked how it poofed with the blusher. I think it's all about your preference. Either way will look really nice. I debated even getting a blusher at all. Originally I didn't order a veil that had one, but when my original veil came in wrong I changed my mind and ordered another one with a blusher and I was very glad I did, but it's all about what you prefer.

Re: Girls with cathedral length veils

I wore a cathedral veil, an elbow length veil, and a blusher. Originally, all three were on separate combs, because I had planned to take the blusher and cathedral veil off for the reception. My hairdresser suggested I have the cathedral layer attached with snaps to the comb of the elbow veil because there would be too many combs. She was right, and it worked out great. My seamstress did the work for free.

Lots of pictures here.

Re: Girls with cathedral length veils

I'm also wearing a cathedral length veil and a blusher. The Blusher I will take off after the ceremony but the cathedral veil I'm actually leaving on...my seamstress is going to bustle it to the waist of my gown (there is alot of detail work on the bottom of the train so it will look like the detail is part of the dress when it's bustled).
I absolutely love my veil - it's one of my favorite things that I've bought and there was no way I wanted to take it off!

Re: Girls with cathedral length veils

I had a cathedral length on a comb and an elbow that went on with velcro. I wanted to take pics with the cathedral only, so that was the best option.

I wore a cathedral and elbow length plus the blusher for the ceremony. I took the blusher off after the ceremony, kept the cathedral and elbow fir pictures, then wore just the elbow during the reception.....
