Give me a sanity check before I go home for the day...

Give me a sanity check before I go home for the day...

Ok, have you ever felt like sometimes when you speak to your FH, that you're speaking another language? My FH is super-intelligent, but sometimes I can say the simplest thing to him and gets this look on his face like, 'huh????'

I don't get it. I can say the same exact thing to my BF and she understands me fine!
But with FH if I don't say the exact words that I mean, he can't understand me. Like you know how sometimes you say the wrong word, but most of the time people know what you mean? He doesn't.

We're having a fight right now and I just want to know that I'm not alone when it comes to having difficulties communicating with men!

I think communication is one of the main reason's that people fight!!

Mars-Venus, Annie...it's really true. A lot of the miscommunication DH and I have had has stemmed from the simple fact that he's a guy and just doesn't communicate the same way.

Hope that helps!

ETA: Though I am HARDLY the one who should be giving OTHER people a sanity check...

Alison - I have that book somewhere but can't seem to find it! I'm going to have to buy another copy so I can read excerpts to Clay. I love him to death but he drives me up the wall sometimes. I can say something as simple as 'the sky is blue' and he looks at me like I just said the most perplexing thing he's ever heard!

Alright, gotta run. Keep on posting your thoughts please, ladies! I'll check back when I get home (after my 1 hr + commute! Argh!)

I have a copy if you want to borrow. I think I also have another of the Mars-Venus books in the series, but can't remember which...

One time when Matt and I were fighting really badly we took a short trip to St. Michael's (only about 1-1/2 hrs drive) and spent the night in a cute place right on the water and spent time there reading the books. I'm not kidding. It actually helped.
