Glad to be back! (Long Story)
Hey Guys - I missed all of you. It's been like a week that I haven't been on. I am going through some big problems at home with fam,FH. First my FH moved out due to a small fight with sister, then came back 3 days later. Now we are looking for an apartment (I didn't expect to move till July) but my FH wants to move now. No one wants to accept my dog so we might have to put him to sleep. He is a big pitbull and can be aggressive towards other dogs and kids. He is OK with us because we raised him but everyone says it is probably best if we put him to sleep. I love him so much, I've been crying all week and can't even think straight. My FH and sis are OK now but are plans are still to move and I still have have the dog problem. I am so upset and couldn't even bring myself to get on the computer. Now things are calming down with the fam and so I feel a bit better but I am still so sad. Anyways I'm glad to be back. Hope I didn't miss to much.

Re: Glad to be back! (Long Story)
how about putting the dog up for adoption? maybe he would be suitable for a one-owner home without children?

That's an idea- I'm still thinking about it. I'm just scared someone will take him and not be able to deal with him and mistreat him. Hopefully, we will find a reasonable solution. I'm praying.

Geeze I would adopt him if I could but right now I am in no position. I would realy get the info out there though. Maybe post on the other boards on here. I really hope everything goes ok.I dont understand though, why can you find a place that accepts dogs?

Good luck with your situation. About your dog, definitely try contacting a reputable shelter like North Shore Animal League. A lot of them have behavior modification classes that might be useful with regard to his aggression. Also, absolutely put a listing (with his picture) on Petfinder.org. You could always conduct an interview and background check on someoe interested in adopting him. It's much better than putting him to sleep just because you can't find a pet-friendly apartment.

Absoloutely do this. Also, you can check for any no-kill shelters. My sister had to wait 2.5 months to get one of her dog's into one in CT after it bit my niece's face, but it was worth it to know the dog wouldn't be put to sleep.
