Going mattress shopping soon! Need recommendations

Dh and I are suffering on his terrible mattress right now and we aren't going to last much longer -- I feel like one of those couples on those dinky mattress commercials who toss and turn all night!

Anyway, does anyone actually have (or know anyone who does) one of those tempur-pedic mattresses? Are they really any good? DH is really interested in those. Any advice on what to look for in a mattress?

Hi - I personally don't have one, but my parents bought one about a year ago and swear by it. That absolutely love it!! Whenever my father goes away for the weekend - he takes the pillow with him.

Hubby's brother has one .. he loves it too! We 'tested' one out in our mattress shopping, and decided against it .. it was just too different for us .. I guess we would have adjusted .. we've been told (mostly by the salesman) .. that it does take a bit of getting used to.

We ended up getting a Sterns & Foster 'C' Series pillow top .. and love it.

Re: Going mattress shopping soon! Need recommendations

we recently bought a queen posture-temp box set from sleepys (it is a knock off of the brand that is sold at brookstone). there were 3 different 'comfort' levels to chose from. i 'think' we chose the middle of the 3. we LOVE it. it is SO comfortable.

WARNING - the list price is really high $1599, but we talked him down A LOT. we bought an ermerald crown twin bed set (list price $499) as well and i think the total came to around $1600 (w/ tax and delivery). i had heard that delivery is usually waived, but he made us pay it.

if you want, i can pull my receipt and tell you the exact mattress we bought and the exact price we paid.
