Going to book hall......
Is there anything that I have to keep in mind when booking? What are good questions to ask? What do I have to make sure is written in the contract?I just feel like I'm going to forget to do something important. Thanks!!

Re: Going to book hall......
Here are some things to keep in mind:What is the maximum the room holds? What is the minimum you need to guarantee? How much for vendors and children? EVERYTHING that may end up in question should be written on the contract, including, how much for extra hour, anything extra your banquet manager adds on for you... Also, any changes you make should be on the contract too... If your cocktail hour is supposed to be outside, make sure you ask what room your cocktail hour will be held in if it rains. That's all I can think of right now, I hope I helped a little! Good luck!
What hall are you booking?

Re: Going to book hall......
Make sure to get everything in writing. If they throw something in put it in writing (like seafood bar or vienese hour).
If you are getting a valet put it in writng.
The payment schedules should also be put in writing as well as the full amount that the hall costs.
The time and date of the affair.
Ask about the food tasting and put the date on the contract.
If the party is exclusive or not
The minimum number of guaranteed guests.
If wine is on the tables or not
I think that is all I have on my contract.
Where are you booking?
Oh ask about the menu. Some places have new menus. Ask if you will get the new one or old one
good luck!

I'm booking at Leonard's of Great Neck.I'm so excited about it, and I didn't realize so many things went into the contract. Do you get to take it home to review or do you have to sign on the spot?
This is all so new to me that I have no idea what to expect.

Re: Going to book hall......
oooh Leonards is beautiful! We did not get to take home the contract to review... Our banquet manager gave us time to read it over and think about it... you are paying a lot of money to have your wedding at their hall, they should give you the amount of time you need and the option to ask as many questions as you feel! Enjoy it! Try not to be nervous! It's fun!
