Has anyone found themselves going to weddings and instead of truly enjoying the wedding, finding yourself taking mental notes on what you liked and didn't like. I feel horrible because I have been to 2 weddings since I have been engaged (mind you I have only been engaged for 2 months! ) and all I have been doing is examining EVERY SINGLE DETAIL!!
Not to mention I become an emotional mess. When the bride and groom have their first dance, I imagine FH and I... and I get all emotional. Don't even talk to me about the Father Daughter dance! I was a wreck!!!!!! FH just sat there and laughed at me!!!!

I haven't yet, but I can see myself doing that in the future. Not something I look forward too.

I did that before my own wedding, but non of the weddings were on LI so they were very different. The one thing I made a huge mental note of was to tell my girls to smile coming down the aisle. At the 3 weddings I went to the BM barely smiled. I also made sure to go to the cocktail hour so I did not have to go table to table. We actually got to enjoy our reception.

HAHAHAHA I've been doing the same thing!! We've been to 6 weddings since we got engaged (which was only a year ago). I take mental notes of what I like and don't like. Oh and the dances get me all weepy too. We just went to one 2 weeks ago for my FH co-worker and I was balling through both dances and I'm thinking to myself, I barely know these people I must look like an absolute fool!!!!

yeah, i definitely enjoyed weddings much more before i got engaged. i miss those days. now they'll never be the same. (sigh)

I feel like a critic when i go to weddings now.. I notice even the smallest details where before i didnt pay much attention.

Absolutely...its so funny..and Im with ya with the getting emotional..I watch wedding shows and start to cry imagining me and my big day...I always say Im crazy...lol

I pay attention to details that I never would have done in the past...this past weekend at gonzo23456's wedding, I was taking pictures of everything for Wendi and of course, the LIW ladies and someone was like 'why are you taking a picture of that' but it's all of those little things that make a wedding reception stand out.

I had a few wedding before DH and I, and I looked at every detail at them and made DH crazy asking him what he thought about everything You are not alone
