gonna buy a digital cam after work

any suggestions? recommendations? never owned one, dont wanna spend a ton.....

I have a kodak easy share, and I'm actually getting another, newer model for christmas. They're EXTREMELY easy to use. I'm not an electronics kinda girl, so it has to be easy for me... you just plug it into your computer and it goes... or you bring the memory card to cvs... SO easy, and inxpensive.

i 2nd the kodak easy share... i have 4.0 megapixel which isnt even the newest one out and it still works awesome... so easy to use and takes beautiful pics.. not expensive either

I gotta vote for the sony cybershot - my last like 4 digitals have been sony's .. i LOVE the screen on the back and how big it is.

mine is a casio too I believe the model is exilim, something like that. I really like it and they're not too expensive either

I'm getting the fuji finepix for Christmas - after comparing a ton.

Its AWESOME! user friendly, does cool things (takes 2 pics at the same time - one with flash, one w/o), and it's really cheap compared to the other ones out there.

The guys at Best Buy were raving about it! And it comes in some cool colors!

I 2nd the Sony Cybershot..this camera is my baby!! I got it last year for Christmas and I am still obsessed with it..its VERY easy to use and takes amazing pictures!! It has a little dial on the side to choose witch mode to shoot in..it has one where it finds the right setting FOR you, so its great to keep it on that all the time..but if you switch it, it pops up right on the screen what it means..like 'great in low light' 'great for water scenes' etc..I LOVE this camera!! Its right around $200 a little less if you can find it on sale...

this might sound pretty elementary, but i'd recommend that you get as many megapixels as you could for your price range...I got a 7 megapixel Sony for a fairly good price...and the megapixels definitely make a difference

I live on Olympus! never had 1 problem with them! I just got a digital SLR camera and its amazing!!!

Sony Cybershot...my first Digital camera was a sony and then I upgraded about a year and a half ago, but just to a newer and better Cybershot- love it!

Megapixels don;t really make that much of a difference unless you plan on enlarging your pictures. The higher the megapixel count the larger you can make your prints before it gets blurry.

Definitely look for a higher optical zoom instead of digital. Digital zoom makes the pictures fuzzy and try to get one with image stabilization.

I reserached for MONTHS before getting mine. I mostly use mine for concert photography so I have one where you can use custom settings.

Mine is a kodak and I recommend them. VERY user friendly.

i have a kodak c763 its identical to the sony cybershot. i love it. get something thin, you will regret it if not. i ended up buying 2 in 2 years cuz i was mad i couldnt fit mine anywhere
