A close family friend who will be attending our wedding sent us a nice card and a check for $50. I am going to send her a thank you now, of course, but I am a little confused. I'm not sure if this is a wedding check or a thoughtful engagement gift (she mentioned 'congratulations on your engagment and sorry for being a little late') She is a VERY generous person and it would not surprise me for her to give us this little extra gift but I am not sure.. What do you guys think?

I just looked at the check and it said 'engagement' in the memo section... DUH!! One of those days
