My only desire is that you are happy on your wedding day. Since Dave first asked me about marrying you, I’ve thought of walking you down the aisle and giving you away. After missing so much in your life, walking you down the aisle was something that I felt would be my honor as your father and no one could take that away. At no time did not wanting to do that enter my mind. I’m sorry if you misunderstood my disappointment. You are absolutely right, this is your and Dave’s day and you should do whatever you feel is right for you.
Jo loves you and Ken and I’m saddened that you would think that she had something to do with my reaction. The thought of doing anything that would upset you on your wedding day would never cross either of our minds.
This is not the time to get into specifics (and I never will) but, sometimes people do things that others can never forget or forgive. I know that your mother is very, very special to you and I would never say or try to do anything that would put you in a position of being in the middle. That is a no win situation for me and I wouldn’t want you to have to deal with something like that. I would never, never do or say anything that would make your wedding day anything less than special for you and Dave.
The thought of you being upset breaks my heart. I’m sorry. Please consider this a closed issue.

Awwwww, I'm glad that he responded. I'm sure it's hard not to feel bad, but things happen and I'm sure he understands. Maybe you two can plan to do something together.
