got my invites and NOT loving them..UPDATE
i paid a lot of money for letterpress invitations. i just received them, and they dont feel like letterpress. the paper is gorgeous but the ink for the most part doesnt feel indented into the paper which is the #1 reason i went with letterpress. they look almost like i printed them from my own printer on nice paper
they are miscut - all of my RSVPs have a tiny bit of white line on the bottom where the design doesnt run off the paper like its supposed to
the ink color on my belly bands is lighter than the ink on the invites (all are supposed to match)...
im so upset. i paid so much for these. now i have only a few weeks to fix it.
im def going to contact the printer tomorrow but i put so much work and so much of myself into these that i am not even mad, just sad that i may have to settle with them if i cant get my money back or have them reprinted. this was supposed to be the big unveiling of over two months of work and im really not at all thrilled with the end result
when it comes down to it i will contact him tomorrow and make sure i either get my money back or have them reprinted. im confident it will all work out in the end. it just S*CKS that i even have to deal with this..
PS - its not a popular LIW vendor - it was my second choice vendor afte rmy first choice backed out...
UPDATE: the printer agreed to reprint the main invites and belly bands although not the RSVPs because he said they are as deeply imprinted as they can be.. which makes me wonder why the rest of the pieces are not
he will however recut the existing RSVPs to remove the extra space at the bottom (although his initial recommendation was for me to go somewhere else and have them cut and then he would reimburse me - but being that i want the invites themselves reprinted i guess he caved a bit).
but anyway im giving him a chance to correct the wrong... will update again when i receive them..cross your fingers for me
