Got my wedding gown today

I know my wedding date is far but I got my dress anyway and it came to my house today! I have pics up in my album of the dress when I tried it on at david's bridal in yonkers. And....if anyone is thinking about getting their dress at david's bridal, make sure that they aren't trying to sell you merchandise that is damaged or anything. The dress I tried on there seemed perfect and they were going to sell me the floor model because the dress is discontinued but when my mom pulled the lace tulle top piece away from the white dress, she noticed a large hole! They still tried to sell that damaged dress to me for the same price but when they realized that I was no fool, they called a different warehouse in pennsylvania and ordered a new one for me straight from the warehouse. Just be careful ladies...it's an ok place to get your dress but don't let them get over! Also, I wouldn't get my alterations there either. The dress is important and expensive so just go to a private seamstress or bridal boutique and get it done. DB has some horror stories about alterations.

In a gown bag in my sisters house. I've got to keep it a secret from you know who (hehe) and her place is big so she's got lots of closet space! She's going to pick it up this weekend. :)

make sure you also keep the tissue type paper around it. ANd hopefully nobody smokes in the house. I didnt have to keep it in my house bc i picked it up the day before the wedding but i know some girls had to get a certain type of tissue or something to keep it in good condition so it doesnt yellow or anything.

tissue paper huh? i'm guessing its just acid free tissue paper. i'll get some before my sis comes to get it. thanks!!

yes it is the acid free tissue paper, thats what they use when the preserve it so for this its the same.

where do i get that tissue paper.....from a dress shop or bridal boutique maybe? hmm.... Oh and the dress won't be exposed to any smoke or anything.

yeah i would ask the bridal store first. And ask them what you need to do. I know sometimes they say you have to air it out at a certain point so ask them for all the instructions on the best way to keep the dress the way it is by the wedding.
