got our rings engraved - ZALES S@CKS

So we got our rings engraved. All they could fit was our date...FINE
We went to pick up the rings this weekend and I flipped out!!!

ARE YOU READY FOR THIS?

The dumb a$$ that did the engraving BROKE one of my diamonds. Yes you read correct, he broke a diamond in my wedding band.

First of all what the hell was he doing to my ring that he used enough force and power to break a diamond. a diamond is one of the hardest materials known to man.

Second of all they tell me that although they can fix it, it could take upto a month! HELLO, he did it engraving my wedding date which is only a week away.

So we left with the rings since i need then at my ceremony but have to bring it back after to be fixed.

FH is going to call HQ this morning to explain to them that we are not happy with the service that we received. (they wouldn't even wave the fee that we had to pay to get my ring broken!!!!)

I will NEVER shop with that company again!!!!

Sorry to hear that - that's why I would never go to a place like that. My sister had to get her ring fixed there like 5 times because the prongs kept breaking. I go to a private jeweler / diamond dealer ... just better quality and actually, you sometimes pay less - zales jacks up the prices and you pay more for less.

That is so ridiculous! I can't believe they wouldn't even give you a break since they broke a diamond. Good luck dealing with HQ!

so sorry you had to go through this! unfortunately most of these mall chain stores don't sell the best quality jewelry and their prices are too high for what they sell.

call HQ and demand that they give you a new ring properly engraved. Be nice, but firm, they should do that for you. I'm sorry you have to deal with this!

I have a ring from Zales (not my e-ring), but a past present future I think its called. Anyway, the prong bent on it, so I brought it in to get fixed. They allege they send the rings out to get repaired. So I return about 2 weeks later, and the ring is in the EXACT same condition it was in when I left it there. I WAS like 'are you friggen kidding me?' they were like, 'well they fixed it'. Yea, I guess the fixed it with a bent prong on it. They are IDIOTS at that place. I took it to an actual jeweler who fixed it properly for me.
that place really SUX.

I didn't personally shop there, but have heard NUMEROUS complaints about them.

I'm so sorry...I hope they fix it perfectly and compensate you in some way.

I actually used to work there (both in MI and Herald Square NYC) and honestly, knowing what I know from working there, I would never shop there. Just to warn you, if you contact corporate, you will probably get the run around for a little while but eventually they should resolve it for you. I am sorry that this happend to you!
