Gown

I thought I was going to go for my wedding gown in August (a year before my wedding) but my mom has been diagnosed with lung cancer. Things are crazy and I can't even think about going for my gown with all of this going on. When do you think I have until to order my gown?

I ordered mine 10 months before my wedding and it has been plenty of time. I am so sorry to hear about your mother. I think you have plenty of time right now.

My friend ordered hers 9 months before and some salons were putting the pressure on her. I ordered mine in Feb and it is in already for a March wedding. I guess it depends where you go.

To answer your question, you are getting married five days after me and I had a consultant at a bridal salon tell me there was no rush. She said if I ordered in November it would be PLENTY of time. (That was Helen's Bridal in Commack, just in case different places have different timelines.)

This makes me feel better. I feel so overwhelmed and I don't know how to be happy about getting married while my mother is ill.

My wedding is four months before yours, and Helen's Bridal told me I should order by September...so about seven months before.

Sorry about your mom. Thoughts & prayers to you & your family.

As far as your dress, I ordered mine in beginning of Sept and its due to arrive later this month. I think it depends where you go. Some places like David Bridal can come in at 3 months while other make take 9 months to a yr. You still have plenty of time.

Wanted to send you prayers for you, your family and your mom; so sorry to hear this! As far as a dress I've been told 7 months is a good time! And I know its hard to think about yourself right now but maybe your wedding can help bring a bright spot where darkness is! Wishing you all the best!!
