Don't try to find something that is totally out of your normal style because you feel like you have to since it is your wedding day, the only day you'll get to be Cinderella. Go with your own style and taste.
This is SO TRUE. It's exactly what I learned as well- there was no way I could wear a ballgown, even though that's the typical impression of a wedding gown. I was meant to be in a very simple, slim a-line. Go with what flatters you, even if it goes against what you might think is traditional!

It's not that I fully had a moment, but when I saw it I was speechless. I put it on and mom really liked it. The best part...The train is detachable which I LOVE!!

Re: Gown photos
My dress just felt like me when I tried it on. It was the perfect combination of things I wanted in a dress.
well i havent gotten my dress yet- still trying to decide - here are a few- enjoy
Karen - I'm all about dress #2 - Brittanya Lynette! You can also get it with a gathered skirt so it's more ballgowny. Looove the top. But I'm into simple gowns with accentuated waists. When will you be trying on more?
did u try that dress on also- the brittanya lynette? was it at lillettes? they have amazing customer service there- i will look around. i'm still going to try on dresses!!!

yes I tried on the top of Brittanya Lynette with some other bottom- a gathered skirt. Supposedly you can get it with the straight skirt- gathered was way too frilly for me. Looks gorgeous on other ladies though!
Keep trying them on! Go to Princess Bridals (in Farmingdale) too- I tried on lots there as well- good selection. Just don't buy your dress there- I've heard bad things about alterations there.

Re: Gown photos
My dress is like none of the other dresses I tried on. I was trying on all of the ball gowns I could get my hands on. Then I tried on my dress and started crying. Seriously the tears were flowing in the dressing room.
It was the first dress I tried on from David's Bridal and then I followed with 4-5 other gowns. It was the one gown I kept coming back to b/c it looked the best on me and when I looked in the mirror - it was me. All the other dresses were beautiful, but not me. I ended up buying my gown right then and there and so happy that I did! It was my first shopping experience too!
