Gown Shopping

Original post by Julybride08

I am going to start making appointments to look at gowns. Any places you recommend??

I already went to Bridal reflections ( not a good experience) and to Gowns by Lousie.

I 've been to Kleinfelds ( and yes you do have to give a credit card number) they were very nice, I've been to Bridal Reflections they were OK, Demetrios in Macys Manhasset OK, LIllettes VERY GOOD, but the best by far and the most willing to work on the price is Wedding Plaza in Floral Park. I'm working with Karmella and she is so nice and has been doing the wedding dress thing forever. If you need more info FM me..

Wow ladies great work and review on these places.

I had an OK experience at Macy's in Smithaven Mall. Liked the dresses but as I have shared before I was pressured to put down on a deposti on a dress (actually couldnt decided between 2) that I said I wasnt sure about yet.

anyway anyone have any experiene with Patchogue Bridal???If that is the name. Its close to where I live so Just wondering!

I've only been to Bridal Reflections in Massapequa, not a great experience. They were also putting pressure on me to put a down payment on a dress after they only let me try on 2!!

David's Bridal in the Source.

Lillette's in Baldwin is also great - my mom got her gown for my brother's wedding there and she had a great experience!

Whatever happened with that? Are you getting your downpayment back?

I'm going gown shopping with my mom on Friday!!! I'm so excited! I think we're heading into the city though but will NOT be visiting kleinfelds. I hear they are the route of all that is evil.

When i go i'll post a review of my experience there, if anyone does act snotty with me, i will say something to them and ask for another sales person...I am shopping for my wedding dress and this will be one time i am not going to deal with crap...i've heard about certain sales people but i kept note of ones that alot of people raved about and said they were so nice and helpful...But the second anyone gives me an attitude, i wont even bother putting up with them.

Lynbrook Bridal is also very good

i have heard that it is okay. just make sure you try on the right dress for your bridal party girls and keep on top of them. a friend of mine had a dress altered that was another girl in the bridal partys dress. also don't get alterations done there.

I called the Bridal Salon 800 number today that was on the contract and was told that I would be contacted within 24 hours. In the meantime I wrote and faxed a letter to them about the cancellation but did not feel the need to go into detail.
I really believe that they cannot turn down my request as per NYS law of 3 day writer recision so I should be fine. Thank you for asking!

I do need to say though that the sales ladies was helpful and not snotty. Just pushy about making a payment and signing a contract otherwise it was a nice experience.
