Gown Stores

Wedding is not until 10/10/08, but it never hurts to start.

Anyone recommend and RAVE about the place you got your wedding gown and/or BM dresses?

I went to RK, Kleinfelds, Wedding Atelier and eventually bought mine at Lillettes in Baldwin.

I would say now is definitely a good time for you to start looking at dresses, it might take you a while...I thought I would've gotten my dress by now, but I haven't found the right one...I guess i'm picky...but the best store I've been to so far is the demetrios bridal salon on 34th street..they're so nice..

Re: Gown Stores

the service was good. I took a day off and went on a weekday. ITs a zoo on the weekends. You're only supposed to try on liek 6 dresses but since it was fairly empty, they let me try on as many as I wanted. The only thing I would recommend if you go is to bring pictures and lots of them. There is so much selection that it was really hard for me to get through all of them. I let the lady pick out all of them based on my pics because I didn't have the patience to do it myself.

,
it's in the city, the service was great. I had a little old lady, gilda, helping me and she was so cute (and extremely honest, which I liked)

centereach bridal
bridal elegance
a lot of brides say RK bridals

i would stay away from davids if possible. although they have great prices and a large selection, there are so many complaints on here.
no offense to anyone who got their dress there..

i got mine from phylis at bridal elegance. she can get you almost any dress you want if you bring her a pic. she can normally beat the price you get from other places.

dont think you are starting too soon. sometimes they can take 8 months to come in. in my case it only took 20 days but i guess i got lucky!

i didnt order my gown yet but
Helen's in Commack was really great. Ashley helped me and she was amazingly sweet.

Macy's bridal salon in the Smithhaven Mall was nice as well...Lilly is the sweetest lady.

Re: Gown Stores

I tried several dresses on and when I found the one I wore on my wedding day, it was pricer than I was expecting to spend. So I contacted pearlsplace.com and I got my dress for $1200 cheaper than what the bridal salon was asking. So you may want to try that as well. I know sometimes it's hard becuase some salons will cut the designer tags out, but just be sure to ask. It doens't hurt to look around to save some bucks!
