Re: gownfind
I'm using Phyllis right now.
I ordered my dress from her. It was very easy and the dress came in 2 weeks earlier than promised. And she game me the best price.
She is also doing my alterations. So far, it has gone very smoothly. I've had two fittings so far, and I am pleased with how the dress looks. I need to go back one more time for a final try-on.
She did cancel one appointment because she wasn't feeling well. But it wasn't a problem and we rescheduled for a few days later.
If you have any specific questions, I'd be happy to answer them if I can.

Re: gownfind
I'm using Phylis right now, ordered my dress through her and it was $450 less than the store, i went for my first fitting this week and she seems great, she really knows what she is doing and has GREAT prices. i didn't do anything like invitations through her, but i'm sure they are fine, she just orders them out of the book like everyone else.

Re: gownfind
I think Phyllis is AMAZING! I called her in crisis because my seamstress ruined my dress as well as my mom's. I had 4 gaping holes in the lace plus a bunch of other problems. My mom's dress had extreme issues as well. Phyllis told us to come right away (Friday of 4th of July weekend) and from the moment I met her I knew it would be ok...and it was! Both of our dresses looked unbelievable! You couldn't tell I ever had holes and the bustle she gave me made my mom cry! Plus, the dresses wre done in a week and a half! I HIGHLY recommend her!

Re: gownfind
I ordered my bridesmaid dresses through Phyllis for CHEAP!! And she did an awesome job altering them. I wish I knew about her when I ordered my dress !
As far as invites...I ordered them through her. My only suggestion is NOT to wait till the last minute to order them. There was a little mix up and since I do things last minute I got myself SO STRESSED OUT!!! But she did take 30% off invites.

Re: gownfind
she was very nasty to me on the phone when I called for a quote on alterations for my wedding dress.
she said 'I have to charge you at least $250 or it's not worth my while' (and she said it with a major attitude)

Re: gownfind
A+ for alterations
I have no info on buying anything from her, since I already had my stuff when I found her. But she was great and wonderful and so very helpful with my dress and one of my BM dresses, which she altered about 5 days BEFORE my wedding (because my BM was a huge slacker!). I highly recommend her!

Re: gownfind
Check out my review for my experiences with her...
I ordered my BM dresses from gownfind. Phyllis has been great to me so far, but I just received ANOTHER phone call from one of my bridesmaids complaining about her. Im just keeping my fingers crossed that everything will work out in the end

Re: gownfind
I just got my dress back from her yesterday and she did a fantastic job. My dress was a sample from a shop out-of-state. Because of the lace on the hem, she had to practically take the dress apart to take it up, and she also had to take it in a lot on the top (the arm holes were huge before that!). Looking at the dress now, you can't even tell all that was done. She also fixed the beading, replaced pearls that had fallen off, and took it to the dry cleaner. I had to pay extra for the dry cleaning, but it was worth it--whoever she took it to even got out permanent marker stains! So I'd highly recommend her.

I am using Phyllis from gownfind and she has been great so far. I cannot attest to the final product, but she has been really nice to me.

Nothing major, just the fact that its VERY DIFFICULT to get in touch with her. The BM dresses came in at the end of june. One of my bm's paid and extra $15 to have it shipped to her. It was all ready the third week in july and she still hadnt received her dress. Since my shower was at the end of July and I had to pick up a dress for an OOT BM, I offered to pick up the other dress that was supposed to be shipped. Conveniently, it was shipped the day before I went there. No biggie, but the BM complained she called on several occassions and Phyllis never returned her calls. I gave Phyllis the benefit of the doubt and didnt say anything. Just this morning another one of my BM's called to tell me she's been trying for a week and a half to get in touch with Phyllis and she still hasnt returned her calls. She finally got in touch with her yesterday and set up an appointment with her for next week. That only leaves 3 weeks until the wedding and A LOT of work needs to be done to the BM dress. My BM is afraid it wont be done on time. That's why Im keeping my fingers crossed. Wish me luck!!

Re: gownfind
i'm just so worried because her alterations for my gown will be capped at $150 while lilette's is capping at $295. so it's half. and invitations are 30% off which is huge. and the BM gowns are $50 cheaper than at lilette's.
there are such conflicting reviews...
a girl i work with (who is actually getting married today!!) grabbed me yesterday and warned me not to get my alterations at lilettes because of the horror she and her BMs went through.
so now i don't know what to do

Re: gownfind
I think I am going to use Phyllis b/c she can order the same dress for $400 less than RK Bridal and her alterations are capped at $150 including a traditional bustle. The $ savings makes it worthwhile for me.

Yes, she owns Gownfind. She also does alterations on the dresses she sells, as well as dresses from other sellers.
