I wish I could tip that little, doesnt 25 bucks for the DJ seem too little, and ffive for teh flower delivery? Am I the only one who thinks this? Im confused..maybe I was told too much all along? I am making my envelopes today..and now I dont know what to do..does everyone think the emount on this link are correct? HELPPP

Helene - I think those amounts sound low too.

We tipped more then that. This list seems to go in that national average wedding category vs. a NYC/LI wedding. But it's a good jumping off point.

Re: Great tipping sheet!!!

I think they sound low too BUT I did notice one of the people who commented was a large band company in NYC.

Can I be devil's advocate here - I DO NOT NECESSARILY BELIVE THIS - just asking for interesting thought:

The tipping we do here is based on what - vendors who tells us what is right (who are the ones benefiting so they aren't going to say ohhh no you don't have to give me anything) or other brides who 'might' be as naive as the rest of us and not really know either - so how do we know WHICH of these tipping options is the right OR the wrong one?

Re: Great tipping sheet!!!

I think using a percentage of the service is a safe way to start and adjust it according to the service provided. If something didn't cost that much then why tip some outrageous amount?

Has anyone thought of giving gifts to vendors instead of money?Especially if the vendor is the owner of the company

Wine? Candy? Gift basket?
